IUT1 in Grenoble is hiring a science outreach coordinator for the FAME project (Training and Attractiveness of Careers in Electronics). Within the GEII department and in collaboration with the educational and technical teams, you will help develop outreach initiatives focused on electronics and microelectronics for middle school and high school students as well as the general public.

From April 24 to 26, 2026, the Networks & Telecommunications (RT) Department at IUT1 in Grenoble hosted the Fluff Event, a charity event organized to benefit the Petits Princes association, which makes the dreams of seriously ill children come true.

On April 23, a group of first-year students in BUT and Telecommunications (RT) BUT had the opportunity to visit the Orange Business Data Center in Grenoble. This annual visit is part of an initiative to introduce students to various career fields and provides their first hands-on experience with the professional world, which may lead to work-study opportunities.

On March 26, IUT1 hosted another edition of its Career Fair, bringing together 42 partner companies and more than 330 students around a shared goal: to facilitate connections and prepare students for the workforce. Here’s a look back at the event in numbers and photos!

IUT1’s 2026 Open House attracted nearly 3,000 visitors who came to learn about the programs and campuses. High school students, college students, professionals looking to change careers, and their families had the opportunity to talk with faculty and students, tour the learning facilities, and envision their future path toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Technology (BUT).

As part of an educational visit to Lynred, a company specializing in infrared technology, students in BUT at IUT1 had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with the industrial environment and related professions.

The exhibition “Regards croisés” features a selection of works created by students in the Multimedia and Internet (MMI) department at IUT1 Grenoble. This exhibition highlights the diversity of approaches in visual communication, graphic design, and audiovisual production.

On March 26, IUT1 once again brought its students and the professional world together at its annual Career Fair. This event has become a must-attend gathering designed to connect students with recruiters.

On April 1, IUT1 welcomed about sixty middle school students as part of the AFEV initiative and its DémoCampus program, which is designed to introduce students to university life and broaden their career horizons.

On March 19 and 20, 2026, IUT1 hosted the national conference of the Assembly of Department Chairs (ACD) for Networks and Telecommunications (RT). Over the course of two days, faculty members and academic administrators from across France gathered to discuss developments in the Bachelor of University Technology (BUT) in Networks and Telecommunications and to share their experiences.

On Thursday, January 22, 2026, the MT2E Department (Energy Transition and Efficiency) at IUT1 Grenoble hosted its Career and Business Forum, an event that has become an essential opportunity to help students shape their career paths.

For the third consecutive year, the Networks and Telecommunications (RT) Department hosted its work-study student forum on Thursday, December 11, 2025. The event brought together nearly 120 students with a clear goal: to provide a practical look at the career opportunities and professional realities of careers in networking, cloud computing, and cybersecurity.

On Thursday, November 20, IUT1 Grenoble, in partnership with ENSE3, organized “Girls’ Day,” an event designed to introduce young women to science and technical careers.

More and more high school girls are choosing science and technology fields, and Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering is very much a part of that trend. At IUT1, Anaëlle Jourdain, a student in BUT , embodies this new generation that is challenging stereotypes about careers in mechanical engineering.

To mark Disability Awareness Month, the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering (GMP) has relaunched an ambitious immersive program designed to raise its students’ awareness of the realities of disabilities, whether visible or invisible.

More and more women are choosing careers in science and technology and forging their own paths in these fields. At IUT1 Grenoble, Manon Chabuel, a student in BUT and Sustainable Construction (GCCD), is a prime example.

On October 9 and 10, IUT1 celebrated Science Day across its three campuses with a wonderful sense of community! Nearly 700 middle and high school students explored 11 themed stations led by more than 80 students and faculty members from the GEII, MP, and MT2E departments. On the agenda: experiments, demonstrations, and hands-on activities focused on everyday physics, the energy transition, robotics, and more!

The Department of Civil Engineering and Sustainable Construction (GCCD) at IUT1 has formed a new partnership with the EOS Group, a Grenoble-based company recognized for its expertise in the fields of construction, renovation, and energy transition, through the signing of a sponsorship agreement.

On October 2 and 16, the Department of Mechanical and Production Engineering (GMP) at IUT1 Grenoble organized two days of discussions focused on work-study programs. Good news for students in BUT starting in 2026, students will be able to take the teacher certification exams and the exam for senior educational advisor (CPE) as early as the third year of college.

The Department of Civil Engineering and Sustainable Construction (GCCD) at IUT1 has just signed a sponsorship agreement with three divisions of Spie batignolles (Public Works, Regional Construction, and Civil Engineering), a major player in the construction industry in France. This three-year partnership marks a new milestone in the close ties that IUT1 is forging with the professional world.

On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, the Amphidice was packed to capacity for the 6th edition of the Multimédi’Alpes festival, now a must-attend event for the MMI (Multimedia and Internet Professions) department at IUT1. The event aims to highlight students’ creative talents and showcase the diversity of their skills: web design, graphic design, audiovisual production, sound, communication, storytelling… all fields in which they have the opportunity to express themselves throughout their academic journey.

On June 19, following the internship presentations, the Networks and Telecommunications Department at IUT1 organized a mini video contest in English for third-year students BUT the initial phase of BUT .

State-of-the-art teaching materials, interactive demonstrations, and tours of innovative facilities: in May, IUT1 hosted the first edition of “Printemps des projets,” an event designed to highlight the tangible benefits of investments made through various projects led by academic departments and their technology platforms.

On the night of Friday, May 23, to Saturday, May 24, 2025, the Networks and Telecommunications (RT) department at IUT1 was buzzing with excitement during an exceptional LAN party organized by the Student Council (BDE).

On May 6 and 22, the Department of Physical Measurements welcomed nearly 80 students from two middle schools in Grenoble: Gérard Philippe Middle School and Village Olympique Middle School. These afternoon visits gave the students the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of science and technology through interactive workshops led by second-year students.

On Thursday, March 27, IUT1 hosted the 10th edition of the Career Fair, a key event for helping its students enter the workforce. This year, the event brought together some 50 companies and attracted nearly 300 students, who came to talk with recruiters and explore more than 100 job and work-study opportunities.

On Thursday, March 13, the Chemistry Department at IUT1 welcomed its alumni for a special opportunity to interact with the current class. It was a valuable chance to explore the wide range of career paths available and draw inspiration from diverse career trajectories.

On this day dedicated to highlighting the role of women in society, IUT1 would like to remind everyone that science and technology programs are open to all. While female students remain in the minority in certain fields, their numbers are gradually increasing, reflecting a positive trend toward greater gender diversity.

As part of their curriculum, first-year students in the GEII department had the opportunity to take a behind-the-scenes tour of Teledyne e2v, a company specializing in semiconductors and image sensors. This immersive experience allowed them to gain a better understanding of the realities of the industrial world and to interact with industry professionals. Pablo Neruda High School (Saint-Martin-d'Hères) and IUT1 Grenoble are once again joining forces this year to help STI2D technology track students explore their post-graduation options. An event focused on discussion and exploration, part of a broader initiative aimed at promoting the technology track, was held on February 13.

On Thursday, January 30, IUT1 reaffirmed its commitment to helping its students enter the workforce by hosting a Career and Business Fair for the MT2E program. This event, designed for BUT and 2 students in the MT2E department (Energy Transition and Efficiency Professions), helped strengthen ties between the institution and companies in the sector.

Last Thursday, the GCCD department hosted around 20 companies from the construction industry for a day full of networking and opportunities!

On Friday, January 17, the Physical Measurements Department at IUT1 welcomed about sixty students from Lucie Aubrac Middle School in Grenoble. During the afternoon visit, the middle school students had the opportunity to explore various aspects of science and technology through experiments led by second-year students in the department. It was also an opportunity to share experiences regarding academic paths and career guidance, from middle school through college.

IUT1 hosted senior STI2D students from Pablo Neruda High School (St Martin d’Hères) for an educational immersion day.

Students in the Energy Optimization for Buildings and Industry (OPTIM) program recently visited the Pacifique – National Choreographic Development Center as part of a hands-on educational project: conducting an energy audit.

As they do every year, the students in the BUT2 GEII program participated in mock job interviews organized in collaboration with partner companies.

On Monday, November 25, IUT1 organized an information and networking day to strengthen ties between high schools and the IUT regarding the technology track. The event brought together about twenty high school teachers and the IUT1 faculty.

IUT1 promotes innovative teaching methods by offering its students hands-on experiences directly linked to the business world, starting from the very beginning of their program. As part of this initiative, first-year students in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Industrial Computing (GEII) recently visited Teledyne e2v, a company specializing in semiconductors and image sensors, located in Saint-Égrève.

To mark European Disability Employment Week (EDEW), the Department of Mechanical and Production Engineering (GMP) at IUT1 Grenoble is launching an immersive program designed to raise awareness among its students about the challenges associated with visible and invisible disabilities. Over the course of two weeks, interactive workshops invite participants to explore the realities of disability, with the goal of promoting inclusion in their future professional lives.

From November 25 to 29, 2024, IUT1 is hosting a themed week dedicated to workplace safety and risk prevention. This event, taking place across its three campuses, reflects IUT1’s commitment to protecting its users and improving working conditions.
