BUT : A forum to learn about work-study programs and careers

Forum Career Guidance and Transition
January 5, 2026
For the third consecutive year, the Networks and Telecommunications (RT) Department hosted its work-study student forum on Thursday, December 11, 2025. The event brought together nearly 120 students with a clear goal: to provide a practical look at the career opportunities and professional realities of careers in networking, cloud computing, and cybersecurity.
During the morning, about 60 third-year students in the work-study BUT program, specializing in cybersecurity and cloud computing, interacted with second- and third-year students in the traditional academic track.
Beyond career paths and job assignments, these discussions provided an opportunity to candidly address the terms of the work-study program, the skills required, and prospects for entering the workforce.

As true ambassadors for their program, the work-study students shared their experiences at some 40 companies and public and private organizations in the Grenoble area, including Orange, Koesio, Widip, Grenoble Alpes Métropole, Schneider Electric, the ILL, Telnowedge, and many others.

Through this forum, the RT Department highlights practical, career-oriented training that is aligned with market needs in sectors facing a severe labor shortage and offering significant hiring potential.
