With the BUT Bachelor of Technology), students follow a three-year integrated program, without additional selection, to earn a bachelor’s degree. Aligned with international standards, this degree facilitates exchange programs with foreign universities.
A skills-based approach to education
In the MT2E department, the focus is on developing skills, rather than merely accumulating knowledge. This approach emphasizes students’ technical skills, interpersonal skills, and cross-disciplinary knowledge, providing them with practical preparation for their future careers.
The method is based on three complementary dimensions:
Skills: the technical skills you need to master;
Soft skills: the attitudes and behaviors to adopt;
Knowledge: the essential theoretical foundations.
Real-life situations for a different kind of learning
Competency-based learning takes shape through Learning and Assessment Situations (LAS). Each LAS consists of one or more tasks to be completed, with a specific objective: to enable students to apply and develop their skills in a real-world context.
A vocational training program integrates objectives, methodology, and assessment in a coherent manner. It is this comprehensive approach that enhances the effectiveness of the training and prepares students for the professional world.
In 11th grade, choose from three tracks to help you refine your career plans
Within the MT2E (Energy Transition and Efficiency Professions) program, IUT1 in Grenoble offers three tracks in the third year, allowing each student to develop a profile tailored to their aspirations and the needs of the job market.
OPTIM Program (Energy Optimization for Buildings and Industry)
This program is designed for students interested in pursuing a career in project management in the field of energy efficiency. It prepares students for careers in energy audits, feasibility studies (particularly in renewable energy), and energy optimization for buildings or industrial processes.
Career Opportunities : engineering firms, local governments, and major energy companies.
REAL Program (Installation of energy systems for buildings and industry)
This program trains professionals to manage technical and commercial projects in the fields of HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), renewable energy, and energy systems.
The account manager serves as the link between the technical team and the client: he or she develops a tailored proposal, creates a budget, and ensures that the proposed solutions comply with regulations.
Career Opportunities : installation companies, energy efficiency service providers, engineering firms.
EXPLOIT Track (Operation and Maintenance of Energy Systems for Buildings and Industry)
This program is designed for students interested in hands-on work and careers related to the operation and maintenance of energy facilities. It prepares students for roles in technical departments, with expertise in optimizing energy performance (flue gas treatment, energy recovery, process improvement, etc.).
Career Opportunities : operations and maintenance technician or team leader, construction coordinator, maintenance supervisor.
