On Monday, November 25, IUT1 organized an information and networking day to strengthen ties between high schools and the IUT regarding the technology track. The event brought together about twenty high school teachers and the IUT1 faculty.
An opportunity to discuss and promote IUT programs
The event provided an opportunity to highlight the unique features and advantages of BUT Bachelor of Technology) program for students in technology-focused tracks. Designed to meet the needs of the professional world, BUT programs BUT practical, hands-on training while incorporating a solid theoretical foundation.
Participants were thus able to share their experiences and discuss strategies for best supporting students in their career planning.
Strengthen partnerships with high schools
One of the main objectives of this meeting was to strengthen existing partnerships between high schools and IUT1. The discussions provided a better understanding of high school teachers’ expectations and needs regarding information on post-high-school programs, and also helped identify ways to support students in their transition to higher education.
A positive assessment and promising prospects
The fruitful discussions underscored the importance of such gatherings in promoting student success. Participants agreed on the need to strengthen outreach and awareness-raising efforts, particularly through joint initiatives such as forums, workshops, or immersion programs at IUTs.
This day, marked by everyone’s enthusiasm and dedication, underscores our shared commitment to developing career guidance pathways that are coherent and tailored to students’ aspirations.
A new orientation session for about 20 high school teachers will be held in December, this time at the IUT1 campus.
