1. Regarding the presentation of the three topics, the folder for “New Construction”—which contains all the documents needed to complete the assignment—does not include any guidelines.
TOPIC: LA POYA
2. Students are wondering if, on top of everything else they have to do, they need to design the station’s foundations and load-bearing structure, given that there are documents mentioning wind loads, mechanical diagrams, stresses, etc.
If they do not address structural calculations, could they be penalized for it?
> We do not require foundation design, but we may ask what type of foundation is appropriate, consistent with the type of structures and loads (but again, we do not require precise calculations).
3. The project footprint varies depending on the document consulted.
Framework document: the project footprint includes the car wash and extends west of Langevin Street, whereas on the existing and project plan (PPM2), the car wash is no longer within the study area and the area under study ends at the edge of Langevin Street. What exactly is the situation?
> The reference document is the framework document.
4. Is it possible to reuse the aggregate (which contains no asbestos) from the buildings located in the part of the Poya park that we are responsible for, in the event of a potential demolition?
> Yes
CLV Topic
Are there any other drawings besides the ones provided (such as a cross-section and elevation of the circular auditorium)?
> All available drawings are included in the file. In addition to the AutoCAD drawings and PDF files, the construction documents for the two phases of work provide useful supplementary information.
Could you tell us what kind of flooring is used? (Is there insulation under the screed?)
> This point is not described in much detail in the available documents. Here too, the specifications are our best source of information.
Can you provide additional information about the crawl space under the large circular auditorium?
> The locations of the crawl spaces and their approximate heights are listed in the as-built drawings.
