The Chemistry Department offers the
BUT Chemistry offering two track options in the third year: Analysis, Quality Control, and Environment; and Materials and Formulated Products.
The Chemistry Department offers customized training programs in the fields of analytical chemistry and materials science (Gas Chromatography, Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry, Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), and Scanning Electron Microscopy).
CFMC (Chemical Trades Training Center)
The IUT hosts the CFMC, a platform dedicated to the teaching of chemical process engineering, at its Gambetta campus.
An 800-square-meter process engineering testing facility, including two classrooms (each with a capacity of 20 people).
A laboratory technician to provide advice and assistance in the development and delivery of training programs.
Study desks made of:
• Unit operations in chemical engineering: Continuous/batch distillation, solid-liquid extraction, liquid-liquid extraction, crystallization, decanting, filtration
• Fluid mechanics: Flow, pressure drops, pumps, flow measurement, fluidization
• Heat exchangers (plate, shell-and-tube), steam boiler
• Water analysis, reverse osmosis
• Control
• Chemical reactors
• Safety training (flash point, spontaneous combustion, etc.)
• Customized training programs tailored to companies’ needs, utilizing the educational resources of the Chemistry Department.
